FAQs
Who Is a Good Fit for Teton Somatic Healing?
Somatic Experiencing and Coaching is well-suited for anyone seeking support with a range of issues, including:
Stress, anxiety, or burnout.
Trauma recovery (developmental, accidents, medical, relational, loss etc.)
Chronic pain, syndromes, or tension.
Feeling disconnected from your body or emotions.
Professional exposure to distressing material (e.g. legal, healthcare, or caregiving fields).
A desire to increase resilience, body awareness, and well-being.
While Coaching and Somatic Experiencing® can be deeply supportive in addressing these areas, it is not intended to replace medical or clinical care. If I feel that I am not the right fit to work with you, I will let you know and do my best to provide alternate resources that may better suit your needs.
What are the Potential Benefits of Working with You?

A sense of empowerment and connection to an authentic sense of self
Enhanced interpersonal relationships.
Increased sense of self-worth and self-trust.
What Is a Session Like?
Every session is unique and personalized to meet your needs in the moment, but there is typically a flow that allows for deep listening, exploration, and integration. Sessions may incorporate talking, body awareness exercises, nervous system regulation strategies, gentle movement, supportive self-touch, and guided meditations or visualization exercises. Sessions are designed to create a sense of safety and support, helping you reconnect with your body and emotions in a way that feels manageable and empowering.
We spend time focusing on what’s happening in your body in the here and now. Through guided attention, I’ll help you track sensations, emotions, and shifts in your nervous system, supporting you in noticing what feels activating and what brings a sense of ease. Throughout the process, I offer education on the nervous system so you can better understand why you may feel stuck in patterns of stress, overwhelm, or shutdown. We also explore tools and practices that you can take into daily life, helping you build a greater sense of self-trust and resilience over time.
Do you offer touch during sessions?
Sometimes. While Somatic Experiencing (SE) can include touch as part of the therapeutic process, it is always done with clear communication, consent, and with safety as the top priority. Most of my sessions are talk-based, but depending on what feels supportive to the client, sessions may also include non-invasive touch from the practitioner to aid in nervous system regulation.
SE Touch is very different from massage or traditional bodywork. It does not involve muscle manipulation, deep pressure, fascia work, or any form of movement-based touch. Instead, SE Touch typically involves placing still, supportive hands on specific areas of the body—such as the shoulders, head, or diaphragm—to provide a sense of containment and grounding. The goal is to support an awareness of bodily sensations and promote self-regulating mechanisms, and aid the nervous system in releasing stored stress and trauma in a way that feels safe and regulated.
If you have any questions about SE Touch and whether it might be a supportive part of your sessions, I’d be happy to discuss it further.
Please Note: I am not a bodyworker or masseuse.
How Long Is a Session?
Sessions are around 50 minutes long. This timeframe allows us to explore your body’s sensations, emotions, and experiences at a comfortable pace.
How Can I Schedule a Session?
Currently, I am scheduling sessions via email. Please reach out to me via email or the contact page to book your session. If you’re unsure if SE is right for you, I also offer a complimentary 25-minute consultation to discuss your needs and answer any questions.
Do You Work with Other Providers?
Yes. Collaboration is an important part of my approach and I bring extensive experience in working alongside clinicians and other providers to support clients. When appropriate, our work together can complement other treatments or therapies as a valuable adjunct to your overall care plan.
If you are currently under the care of medical or mental health professionals, I am committed to working alongside your existing providers to ensure you receive integrated and cohesive support. In some cases, incorporating insights from your clinical and medical history can enable me to better support you. This may include obtaining appropriate releases to share information and align on treatment goals.
For clients with more complex needs, I can offer case management and care coordination services to help streamline and facilitate their healing journey. Additionally, if gaps in care are identified, I will make every effort to provide recommendations for additional clinical support or external resources to ensure your needs are fully addressed.
Is Coaching and Somatic Experiencing® a Replacement for Other Therapies or Treatment?
No. Coaching and somatic experiencing does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, nor should it replace treatment or therapy from a licensed medical or mental health provider. I do not provide clinical or medical services.
Do You Accept Insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance. All sessions are self-pay, and payment details will be provided during the scheduling process.
Where are the sessions held?
I offer virtual sessions via Zoom and in-person sessions in Jackson, Wyoming.
